This vibrant Cheriyal mask by artist Sai Kiran is part of Telangana’s rich scroll-painting and performance tradition, where exaggerated faces and bold colors help narrators bring characters to life during folk storytelling. Designed to be expressive from a distance, these masks depend on large eyes, sharp lines and dramatic features to communicate emotion instantly.
This mask, with its bright yellow face, sky-blue horns, thick black moustache and extended red tongue, carries an intense yet theatrical energy. The white forehead mark and dotted facial lines add to its strong personality, giving the face a sense of age, experience and authority. The wide eyes seem alert and restless, as if the character is always in motion, always speaking, always reacting.Its wide, unflinching eyes and exaggerated features echo the kolli kannu of Drishti paintings, where seeing and being seen becomes a quiet act of protection. Returns and Replacements
We offer replacements or repairs if your artwork arrives damaged or has a quality issue. As each artwork is handcrafted, we do not accept returns or refunds for orders received in the expected condition.
Delivery Timeline
Ready To Ship/In Stock artworks are shipped in 3-4 days. We only accept return requests for Ready to Ship/In stock artworks placed within a week from date of delivery. However, no returns can be accepted for international deliveries.
