This exquisite pendant is a testament to the rich heritage of Assamese handmade jewelry, crafted with meticulous attention to detail by Ms. Priya Biswas, a skilled artisan with 15 years of experience. The pendant vividly portrays a woman plucking tea leaves in a lush garden, symbolising Assam’s agrarian roots and cultural identity. The intricate design incorporates natural materials: the head is crafted from jute seed, the basket from cane and bamboo, tea leaves from cane, the face from palm tree leaves, and the attire from traditional Muga silk and cotton thread. The pendant’s boundary is adorned with paddy motifs, while the necklace features areca nut and wooden beads, adding a rustic charm. Rooted in Assamese traditions, this piece exemplifies the region's artistry, where motifs inspired by daily life and nature are transformed into wearable art.
These artworks are exclusive national award winning pieces and are available for view and purchase for the very first time for NCR residents at ‘Kaarigar Sangam at the Kunj and are exclusively available for patrons outside Delhi through MeMeraki. These are being sold at no commission and are inclusive of GST , however shipping and packaging will be charged separately. Each of our artworks are hand painted by master artists across India. We provide a digital authentication certificate with this artwork signed by the artist which will be sent over email after 3-4 days of delivery of the artwork.
