This visually engaging artwork offers a contemporary interpretation of traditional Rajasthani miniature painting, reimagined through a futuristic lens by master artist Rajendra Sharma. Using a cross-sectional, compartmentalized format, the artist transforms the conventional haveli and its surrounding structured gardens into a sprawling modern mansion, creating a striking contrast between classical architectural detailing and contemporary domestic design.

At the center of the composition, the interiors and exteriors of the mansion dominate the visual narrative, giving viewers a panoramic glimpse of how a traditional Rajasthani miniature might be re-envisioned in the future. The outdoor areas are rendered as enchanting forests filled with lush vegetation—banana palms, shrubs, and multicolored plants—set against a dramatic dark background. On both sides of the modern mansion, multiple compartments depict scenes from daily life, where men and women engage in conversations and household activities. Although the settings are modern, the figures remain true to Rajasthani iconography, dressed in traditional attire. The artist also includes a kamal talai (lotus pond) with elegant flora, beautifully evoking the classical style.

Within the central mansion, the structure features a pyramidal roof where traditional jharokhas are replaced by large, rectangular glass-and-wood windows illuminated by modern lighting elements rather than traditional lamps. The interior consists of six rooms, each occupied by figures engaged in distinct activities. The first segment shows women absorbed in embroidery; the second features a woman just risen from bed; the third depicts a man and woman engrossed in a game of chaupad, celebrating leisurely pastimes. The fourth captures an intimate moment between two women deep in conversation. The fifth is musical—one woman plays a drum while another sings. The sixth and most ceremonial scene presents a group of women performing music to entertain a centrally seated royal woman.

Anchoring the composition, the bottom edge is framed by a horizontal band of stylized shrubs and small flowering bushes in greens and browns, creating a neat garden boundary that reinforces the sense of an enclosed world. Across all interior scenes, the figures inhabit minimalist, modern rooms with geometric floors and simple furnishings, resulting in a witty and anachronistic blend of historical tradition and contemporary lifestyle. The artwork ultimately offers a futuristic reinterpretation of the classical miniature style—one that feels both imaginative and unexpected, as envisioned by the master artist

No, we currently sell artworks unframed (unless explicitly mentioned otherwise) and do not provide framing services.

Domestic Orders

All prices are inclusive of GST and applicable Indian taxes.

• We offer free shipping on orders above ₹1999 for all artworks, except Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri.
• A flat shipping rate of ₹499 applies to orders below ₹1999.

Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri

Shipping is charged on a per-kilogram basis, due to the delicate and bulky nature of these items.

International Orders

• A flat shipping charge of ₹4,000 applies to international artwork orders.
• Customs duties, taxes, or import charges in the buyer’s country are not included and must be borne by the buyer.
• Shipping rates for Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri artworks will be calculated based on weight.

Additonal Shipping Charges

Extra charges may be applicable for both domestic and international deliveries in the following cases:

• If the article requires additional packaging (such as a wooden crate) to ensure safe shipping due to its delicate nature.
• Custom-framed artworks.
• Artworks where shorter side exceeds 36 inches or Decor items with any side over 35 inches.
• If you request express shipping. Contact support to check availability.
• The order contains more than two different product types.

All artworks are handmade and couriered securely packed in a tube.

Ready To Ship/ In Stock artworks are shipped in under 2 weeks. We only accept return requests for Ready to Ship/ In stock artworks placed within a week from date of delivery. However, no returns can be accepted for international deliveries.

All MeMeraki artworks are hand-painted. In rare occasions, artist may face delays due to weather, health, prior commitments or force majeure. Our team will reach out to you with revised timelines in case of such delays. We appreciate your understanding and patience in such situations.
