About the Artwork +
This Madhubani painting by artist Priti Karn depicts one of the most iconic moments of devotion from the Ramayana, where Hanuman tears open his chest to reveal the images of Lord Rama and Sita dwelling within his heart. Hanuman is the central, monumental figure, rendered with a vibrant orange complexion and classic Mithila features, including a large almond-shaped eye and a sharp profile. He is shown in a seated or kneeling posture on a meticulously detailed checkered floor of red, black, and white, with his hands positioned to part his chest, symbolizing that his entire being is centered on divine love.
The interior of his chest reveals the miniature figures of Rama, with his traditional blue skin, and Sita, both adorned with crowns and jewelry. Hanuman himself is dressed in a richly patterned purple garment decorated with small teardrop motifs, and a multi-layered yellow and orange skirt featuring intricate geometric bands. Behind him, a magnificent halo of radiating waves in shades of yellow, blue, and orange fills the background, signifying his spiritual energy and the divine light emanating from his core. His signature long tail curls gracefully behind him, and he is adorned with elaborate earrings and necklaces that showcase the artist's command over fine detailing.
The entire composition is framed within a double decorative border. The inner border features a black-and-white "leheriya" or wave-like pattern, while the outer border is a bold red frame filled with black rhythmic lines. The work utilizes a vibrant, saturated palette and clear, double-outlined figures, making it a striking example of the Bharni (color-filling) style. By centering the narrative on this act of ultimate surrender, the artist transforms a well-known mythological event into a powerful visual meditation on faith and the presence of the divine within the devotee.

We ship worldwide.
Domestic Orders
All prices are inclusive of GST and applicable Indian taxes.
- We offer free shipping on orders above ₹1999 for all artworks, except Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri.
- A flat shipping rate of ₹499 applies to orders below ₹1999.
Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri
Shipping is charged on a per-kilogram basis, due to the delicate and bulky nature of these items.
International Orders
- A flat shipping charge of ₹4,000 applies to international artwork orders.
- Customs duties, taxes, or import charges in the buyer’s country are not included and must be borne by the buyer.
- Shipping rates for Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri artworks will be calculated based on weight.
Additonal Shipping Charges
Extra charges may be applicable for both domestic and international deliveries in the following cases:
- If the article requires additional packaging (such as a wooden crate) to ensure safe shipping due to its delicate nature.
- Custom-framed artworks.
- Artworks where shorter side exceeds 36 inches or Decor items with any side over 35 inches.
- If you request express shipping. Contact support to check availability.
- The order contains more than two different product types.

Delivery Timelines and Returns +
All artworks are handmade and couriered securely packed in a tube.
Due to high demand for artworks from this artist, the delivery timelines are currently 0-2 weeks.
