About the Artwork +

For these paintings, the pricing includes the teak wood frame.

Raja Ravi Varma's iconic oleograph depicting Lord Ganesha with his consorts Riddhi and Siddhi captures the essence of Hindu mythology with unparalleled beauty and grace. Lord Ganesha is depicted in a majestic posture, seated on a large throne, adorned with ornate jewelry and garments that shimmer with opulence. Riddhi and Siddhi, the divine consorts of Lord Ganesha, flank him on either side, exuding elegance and grace. The background is plain focussing the attention on the main subject.
This masterpiece showcases the artist's exceptional skill in portraying divine subjects with exquisite detail and emotional depth. Lord Ganesha, revered as the remover of obstacles and the harbinger of success and prosperity, is depicted in his divine form, symbolizing wisdom, intellect, and auspicious beginnings. Whereas, Riddhi represents prosperity and abundance, while Siddhi embodies spiritual attainment and fulfillment. Together, they embody the blessings bestowed upon devotees by the benevolent Lord Ganesha.

This is a limited edition capsule collection of original oleographs/ chromo lithographs from the 1920's and 1930's created at the original Raja Ravi Verma Printing Press. This collection of paintings was originally made by Raja Ravi Verma and artists like CS Ramanujam. The oleographs are embellished with original delicate Japanese paper silk and Zari work in real gold and silver which was done by artists in the same period. These oleopgraphs were created in limited numbers and thus each artwork is limited to only 1 in availability with us. Varma used oleographs on paper, a type of lithography that uses oil paints on paper to make his work available to the masses. He eventually sold the press to one of the Germans. The stone-printing procedure allows exact brushstrokes and patterns to be replicated on a large scale with multitudes of tones and diverse colour palette. The artist signature is on each of the artworks and each artwork will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from MeMeraki.
