This breathtaking terracotta sculpture by Dolon Kundu intricately captures the legendary episode from the Ramayana where Lord Ram and his devoted Vanara Sena, led by Lord Hanuman, build the Ram Setu across the ocean to reach Lanka. The composition is deeply expressive, blending mythology with detailed craftsmanship. On the right, Lord Rama is seated gracefully, his divine presence radiating serenity and command. Adorned with a bow and sacred ornaments, he holds a stone in his hand, seemingly blessing the construction of the bridge. His gentle expression signifies trust in his devotee’s unwavering service. To the left, Hanuman is portrayed with fierce dedication, kneeling on the ground as he inscribes Rama’s name onto a stone, ensuring it will float upon the waters. His muscular form, expressive eyes, and poised stance reflect his immense strength and devotion. Behind them, sculpted waves form a dramatic backdrop, with monkeys energetically carrying stones, stacking them, and forming a chain-like structure, showcasing their collective effort and devotion to Rama’s cause. The detailed carving of each ripple in the water, the individual petals scattered around, and the varying textures of the stones and clothing bring an extraordinary realism to the scene. Packaging & Installation:
For larger terracotta artworks, pieces are securely packaged and hand-delivered in parts. Installation is coordinated with the artist and includes final touch-ups like colouring and fixing. Visible joints are a natural feature of terracotta art. Installation charges in addition to the artwork may apply and our sales team will get in touch with you for the same.
Each of our artworks are hand painted by master artists across India. We provide a digital authentication certificate with this artwork signed by the artist which will be sent over email after 3-4 days of delivery of the artwork.
