Traditionally created by women on walls and floors during auspicious occasions, these paintings depict Hindu mythology, nature, folklore, and daily life, often incorporating Hindu deities, scenes from epics, and natural motifs like flowers and animals. Legend suggests its origins trace back to King Janak's commission for Sita's wedding.
