The theme of Annakoot for Pichwai was created to commemorate the 1822 event of Shrinathji’s worship, the day after Diwali. During this, Damodarji II and another Goswami worship the deity, and offer him chappan bhog (56 food offerings). The rice mound symbolizes Mount Govardhan, topped with a gunja (sweet cake) representing Vishnu's head. The deep indigo Pichwai behind Shrinathji, and the saffron thada vastra (cloth covering the stele), depict a richly jeweled and pearled Tree of Life, a gift from Damodarji's mother and other devotees.
It is noteworthy that, unlike other paintings which depict three elements below Shrinathji—a paan beeda, prasad dibbi, and jal patra—this painting omits the prasad dibbi, as it instead presents 56 distinct food offerings to the deity.
In contrast to other Pichwai paintings featuring a prominent depiction of gopis, this painting portrays the women of the household veiled in ghunghats. The 24 side panels illustrate 22 swarups of Shrinathji. The bottom left depicts children learning about the life of Shri Krishna, while the right side shows Jamuna ji, a personification of the Yamuna River.

Returns and Replacements
We offer replacements or repairs if your artwork arrives damaged or has a quality issue. As each artwork is handcrafted, we do not accept returns or refunds for orders received in the expected condition.
Delivery Timeline
Ready To Ship/In Stock artworks are shipped in 3-4 days. We only accept return requests for Ready to Ship/In stock artworks placed within a week from date of delivery. However, no returns can be accepted for international deliveries.
Once your order is placed, our team stays in constant communication with the artist to track the progress and ensure the quality of your order. You will receive regular updates from us throughout this process.
