Hands-On Workshop with Adarsh Appukuttan
Join us for an immersive, hands-on workshop with Adarsh Appukuttan, whose solo exhibition Kerala Chumarchitram: The Mural Painting Tradition from Kerala is on view at the Kamalnayan Bajaj Gallery, Mumbai.
During this workshop, participants will learn the painting techniques of Kerala mural art step by step.
Participants will trace a Kerala mural-inspired motif onto an A4 canvas and then build up its colours in the traditional manner. The exercise focuses on outlining, colour layering techniques, and the careful handling of natural pigments.
Because mural painting technique is slow and layered, participants may not be able to complete their artwork during the workshop. Adarsh will guide you through each stage and explain how to continue and finish your piece at home.
To support your learning beyond the workshop, we will also create a dedicated group where participants can ask questions, share their progress, and receive guidance and feedback from the artist and team after the session.
