This manuscript painting by Sujit Das represents a page from a Chitra-bhagavat (Illustrated Bhagavatam) manuscript, characterised by its division into two distinct sections for text and illustration, a format typical of illuminated religious scrolls.
The larger left portion is dedicated to the sacred text, written in the Odia script on a flat yellow background and beginning with invocations to the Srimad Bhagavatam and Lord Vasudeva, likely containing scripture referencing the teachings of the sage Śukadeva Gosvāmī.
The right portion features the illustration set against a red background under a blue arch, depicting a pivotal moment of scriptural discourse: a crowned figure, representing King Parikshit, is seated in supplication with hands joined, receiving instruction from a blue-complexioned figure, representing the sage Śukadeva Gosvāmī, whose hand is raised in a gesture of teaching or preaching.

No, we currently sell artworks unframed (unless explicitly mentioned otherwise) and do not provide framing services.

Returns and Replacements

Delivery Timeline
This artwork will be Made to Order and will take 3 weeks to be made and shipped.
Once your order is placed, our team stays in constant communication with the artist to track the progress and ensure the quality of your order. You will receive regular updates from us throughout this process.
