In Riyaz Khan's Kashmiri paper mache masterpiece, a mesmerizing scene unfolds as intricate floral patterns intertwine with the graceful presence of birds perched upon the branches of majestic trees. Each delicate petal and feather is meticulously crafted, evoking a sense of natural beauty and tranquility. Khan's skillful execution brings depth and vibrancy to the composition, capturing the essence of Kashmir's breathtaking landscape. The Kashmiri paper mache painting process, steeped in centuries-old tradition, begins with the meticulous preparation of paper pulp mixed with adhesive materials like rice paste or gum. Artisans then mold the paper pulp into various shapes and designs, meticulously layering them to create intricate patterns and textures. After drying, the surface is meticulously painted with vibrant hues derived from natural pigments, adding depth and dimension to the artwork. The result is a stunning display of artistry that not only celebrates Kashmir's rich cultural heritage but also showcases Riyaz Khan's mastery of the intricate craft of Kashmiri paper mache painting.
Each of our artworks are hand painted by master artists across India. We provide a digital authentication certificate with this artwork signed by the artist which will be sent over email after 3-4 days of delivery of the artwork.

Kashmir Paper Mache is a centuries-old craft from the Kashmir Valley, known for its intricate hand-painted designs and delicate craftsmanship. This traditional art form, introduced from Persia in the 15th century and later fused with local and Mughal aesthetics, transforms paper pulp into stunning decorative and functional objects like boxes, trays, and vases. The craft involves two main techniques: Sakhtsazi, the molding of recycled paper pulp, and Naqashi, the hand-painting stage where fine designs inspired by Kashmiri nature, Islamic art, and Persian miniatures are applied using natural pigments and gold leaf. Each lightweight and durable piece is a celebration of Kashmir's rich artistic heritage, sustaining artisan communities and captivating art lovers worldwide.
