This beautiful wood carving by the artist Shrinivasan depicts Goddess Lakshmi, the embodiment of wealth, prosperity, and purity.
The piece is skillfully rendered in Vagai wood (Albizia lebbeck, or Indian Walnut), a material prized for its natural durability and attractive, warm-toned grain, which lends a rich quality to the final work.
The carving portrays Lakshmi seated regally in Lalitasana on a stylized lotus pedestal, consistent with her traditional iconography. She is shown with four hands: the upper pair holding lotus flowers (symbolizing purity), and the lower hands extended in the gestures of boon-giving (Varada Mudra) and fearlessness (Abhaya Mudra), often with coins pouring forth. The meticulous deep-relief carving brings the figure forward dramatically, capturing the fine detail of her elaborate traditional jewelry, carved halo, flowing garments, and serene facial expression.
The work is treated with a protective, glossy PU (Polyurethane) polish. This high-sheen finish enhances contrast, allowing the intricate details to visually pop.
Each of our artworks are hand painted by master artists across India. We provide a digital authentication certificate with this artwork signed by the artist which will be sent over email after 3-4 days of delivery of the artwork.

No, we currently sell artworks unframed (unless explicitly mentioned otherwise) and do not provide framing services.
