Hands-On Workshop with Mohan Prajapati
Join us on 18 October for an immersive and hands-on workshop with Mohan Prajapati ji, a National Award-winning miniature artist from Jaipur, who has been practicing miniature painting for over 40 years.
Trained by his father, who was also a miniature artist, Mohan ji has mastered several miniature painting traditions, including Mughal and Kangra miniature art. He has received the Rajasthan State Award in 2004 and the National Award in 2007, and has showcased his work internationally in New York, China, Bahrain, and other venues.
During this workshop, participants will be introduced to the rich history and techniques of miniature painting while creating their own miniature artwork under the artist's guidance. Mohan ji will take you through the process step by step, sharing insights into traditional techniques, detailing, and the intricacies of the art form.
Workshop Theme
A Mughal-Inspired Garden Scene
Participants will create a miniature Garden inspired by the traditional Mughal miniature aesthetic, featuring floral elements and nature-inspired motif. The theme will allow participants to explore composition, fine detailing, colour application, and traditional miniature painting techniques.
As miniature painting is an intricate and highly detailed art form, participants may not be able to complete the entire artwork during the workshop. However, Mohan ji will guide you through each stage and explain how you can continue and complete your artwork at home.
To support your learning beyond the workshop, we will also create a dedicated group where participants can ask questions, share their progress, and receive guidance and feedback from the artist/team even after the session.
