Embark on a journey into Hindu mythology with master artist Sandeep Dhurve's Gond painting, which presents the illustrious episode of Ravananuragha Murti (Ravana's boon from Shiva) on Mount Kailash.
In this brilliantly crafted composition, the artist intertwines Hindu mythology with natural elements, imbuing the scene with deep symbolism. At the center, Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati are depicted as Ardhanarishvara, an androgynous deity symbolizing the union of masculine and feminine energies. They are accompanied by their mounts, Nandi and a lion. Below a tree, Lord Ganesha rests peacefully, his form encapsulated within a leaf—a symbol of divine protection that, while seemingly light, is in reality immovable.
The narrative unfolds with the arrogant demon Ravana, who, believing Mount Kailash to be as light as a leaf, attempts to shake it and carry it back to Lanka. In a display of his immense power, Lord Shiva simply presses his toe onto the mountain, trapping Ravana underneath. Lord Ganesha and his mount, Mooshak, remain completely calm, a testament to Shiva’s might. Overwhelmed but devoted, Ravana appeases Shiva by praising him with hymns played on a veena made from his own body, composing the Shiv Tandav Strotram. Impressed by Ravana's devotion, Shiva eventually grants him a boon.
The painting's composition is anchored by a large, stylized green tree covered in snow, symbolizing nature. The figures are rendered with signature Gond dot and line patterns in vibrant hues against a striking yellow background. Sandeep Dhurve's distinctive style incorporates motifs inspired by natural textures like skin wrinkles and dried mud cracks, making this artwork a powerful ode to Hindu mythology that effortlessly engages viewers with the rich narratives of Gond tribal art.

Returns and Replacements
We offer replacements or repairs if your artwork arrives damaged or has a quality issue. As each artwork is handcrafted, we do not accept returns or refunds for orders received in the expected condition.
Delivery Timeline
Ready To Ship/In Stock artworks are shipped in 3-4 days. We only accept return requests for Ready to Ship/In stock artworks placed within a week from date of delivery. However, no returns can be accepted for international deliveries.
Once your order is placed, our team stays in constant communication with the artist to track the progress and ensure the quality of your order. You will receive regular updates from us throughout this process.
