About the Artwork +

This artwork is a powerful and unique horizontal depiction of Suryadev, the Hindu Sun God, executed in the Kalamkari style, likely by Harinath N., though the format is distinct from typical vertical mythological panels.
The composition is focused on the central figure of Suryadev, rendered with a luminous blue face and body, symbolizing his celestial origin, and adorned with traditional Kalamkari ornamentation and a prominent circular halo of red and yellow, indicating his immense radiant energy. He is seated on his divine chariot, which is being pulled by seven horses (symbolizing the seven days of the week or the seven colors of the rainbow) and his charioteer Arun, all dynamically depicted in various colors, suggesting rapid motion across the sky.
Suryadev, the Sun God, is considered the source of all energy, light, and life force in Vastu Shastra, embodying the principle of authority and fame. His depiction on the chariot pulled by seven horses is highly significant for energy flow.
This Suryadev Kalamkari painting is an extremely auspicious Vastu element, recommended for the East wall to attract power and vitality. The depiction of the sun god's chariot being pulled by seven horses moving into the house symbolizes continuous progress and success. The artwork features a vibrant palette dominated by red, yellows and blues against the white cotton and is framed by an elaborate border of characteristic Kalamkari floral and geometric motifs.
