This Pichwai by Trilok Prakash Soni is a devotional tribute to Shrinathji, capturing the 24 Darshans that represent the various festivals and seasons celebrated throughout the year at the Nathdwara temple.

Pichwai is a traditional cloth-based scroll painting from Nathdwara, Rajasthan, primarily created to adorn the sanctuary of Shrinathji (a seven-year-old form of Krishna) and is known for its intricate detailing and rich, vivid colors. This specific composition focuses on the Swaroops (divine forms), capturing the rhythmic cycle of worship that has defined this art form for centuries.

The artwork is structured into twenty-four individual arched alcoves, each housing a unique depiction of Shrinathji. In every panel, the Lord is shown with his dark complexion, a peacock feather crown (mor mukut) and a beautifully detailed braid. Each form features distinct, vibrant garments and represents a specific shringar (adornment) corresponding to various festivals and times of the day.

He holds a lotus stick (kamal chadi) and a flute (bansuri), representing his role as the divine lover and protector of cattle (Gopala). His left arm is raised, symbolizing the protection of the people of Braj by lifting the Govardhan mountain. At the feet of each form, the artist has included essential ritual items such as a prasad box (for offerings), a jaldani (water pot) and paan beeda (betel leaves), grounding the spiritual scene in daily temple seva (service).

The painting is framed by two distinct and meaningful borders. Immediately surrounding the central panels on three sides is a parade of white cows on a dark background. These cows are decorated with saffron handprints, symbolising Shrinathji’s role as Gopala (protector of cows) and are essential motifs in the landscape of Vrindavan. The outermost frame is a vibrant, repetitive floral pattern on an ochre-yellow background, providing a cheerful and celebratory finish to the entire composition.

The color palette is a brilliant display of diversity and balance. The backgrounds of the individual alcoves vary, using mustard yellow, deep red, emerald green and soft grey, to differentiate between the various seasons and festive moods.

This highly organized and devotional painting serves as a visual encyclopedia of the Pushtimarg tradition. By bringing together many divine manifestations into a single frame, it offers a sense of spiritual completeness and rhythmic beauty.

Domestic Orders

All prices are inclusive of GST and applicable Indian taxes.

• We offer free shipping on orders above ₹1999 for all artworks, except Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri.
• A flat shipping rate of ₹499 applies to orders below ₹1999.

Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri

Shipping is charged on a per-kilogram basis, due to the delicate and bulky nature of these items.

International Orders

• A flat shipping charge of ₹4,000 applies to international artwork orders.
• Customs duties, taxes, or import charges in the buyer’s country are not included and must be borne by the buyer.
• Shipping rates for Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri artworks will be calculated based on weight.

Extra charges may be applicable for both domestic and international deliveries in the following cases:

• If the article requires additional packaging (such as a wooden crate) to ensure safe shipping due to its delicate nature.
• Custom-framed artworks.
• Artworks where shorter side exceeds 36 inches or Decor items with any side over 35 inches.
• If you request express shipping. Contact support to check availability.
• The order contains more than two different product types.

This artwork will be Made to Order and will take 2-3 weeks to be made and shipped. Returns are not applicable on Made To Order artworks.
