This majestic Mysore painting by artist Hemalatha B depicts Goddess Saraswati, the patron of music, wisdom and the arts. Worshipped by students, scholars, musicians and artists as she is considered the source of all creative and intellectual pursuit.
Mysore painting is a form of classical South Indian painting, which evolved in the Mysore city of Karnataka. These paintings exude grace, beauty and intricacy through the use of thin gold leaves and muted colours. They generally depict Hindu Gods and Goddesses and scenes from Hindu mythology.
In this circular composition, the Goddess is shown sitting gracefully on a blooming pink lotus, which itself is placed atop a low, ornate golden pedestal with a cushion. The lotus symbolizes spiritual purity and the unfolding of consciousness.
She is depicted in a four-armed form, with her primary hands playing the Veena. This instrument represents the primordial sound of creation and the harmony of all arts and sciences. In one of her upper hands, she holds a roll of scripture, representing the Vedas and eternal knowledge, and a pen in the other.
Saraswati is draped in an elegant blue sari, detailed with intricate gold borders and patterns. She is adorned with an array of traditional golden ornaments, including a towering Karanda Mukuta (crown), giving the Goddess a regal and divine radiance.
The artwork is centered within a dark, circular field that makes the gold-work and the fair tones of the deity stand out. It is framed by a simple golden dotted border and encased in a thick wooden frame, which serves as a rustic contrast to the intricate, refined painting within.

Returns and Replacements
We offer replacements or repairs if your artwork arrives damaged or has a quality issue. As each artwork is handcrafted, we do not accept returns or refunds for orders received in the expected condition.
Delivery Timeline
Ready To Ship/In Stock artworks are shipped in 3-4 days. We only accept return requests for Ready to Ship/In stock artworks placed within a week from date of delivery. However, no returns can be accepted for international deliveries.
Once your order is placed, our team stays in constant communication with the artist to track the progress and ensure the quality of your order. You will receive regular updates from us throughout this process.
All MeMeraki artworks are hand-painted. In rare occasions, artist may face delays due to weather, health, prior commitments or force majeure. Our team will reach out to you with revised timelines in case of such delays. We appreciate your understanding and patience in such situations.
