This elegant Mysore painting by Hemalatha B depicts Lord Ganesha with a fair complexion, seated comfortably on a low, ornate pedestal with a cushion at the back. Mysore painting is a form of classical South Indian painting, which evolved in the Mysore city of Karnataka. These paintings exude grace, beauty and intricacy through the use of thin gold leaves and muted colours. They generally depict Hindu Gods and Goddesses and scenes from Hindu mythology.
In this circular composition, Ganesha is portrayed with traditional attributes that symbolize his role as the remover of obstacles and the lord of wisdom. He has been depicted as 'ekadanta', that is, with his right tooth broken. He is four-armed, holding a sugarcane stalk in his upper left hand, which symbolizes the sweetness of life and the mind. In his upper right hand, he holds a sprig of blossoms with a lotus bud, representing spiritual unfolding. With his lower right hand, he brings a modak, his favorite sweet, towards his mouth, while the lower left hand holds the plate, signifying the ultimate reward of spiritual pursuit.
Lord Ganesha is dressed in a rich brown and green dhoti with gold borders. His jewellery, crown (karanda mukuta) and the decorative patterns on his garments are highlighted with Mysore-style gold relief. Around his waist is tied a snake, which represents all forms of energy.
The artwork is centered within a dark, circular field that makes the gold-work and the fair tones of the deity stand out. It is framed by a simple golden dotted border and encased in a thick wooden frame, which serves as a rustic contrast to the intricate, refined painting within.

Returns and Replacements
We offer replacements or repairs if your artwork arrives damaged or has a quality issue. As each artwork is handcrafted, we do not accept returns or refunds for orders received in the expected condition.
Delivery Timeline
Ready To Ship/In Stock artworks are shipped in 3-4 days. We only accept return requests for Ready to Ship/In stock artworks placed within a week from date of delivery. However, no returns can be accepted for international deliveries.
Once your order is placed, our team stays in constant communication with the artist to track the progress and ensure the quality of your order. You will receive regular updates from us throughout this process.
All MeMeraki artworks are hand-painted. In rare occasions, artist may face delays due to weather, health, prior commitments or force majeure. Our team will reach out to you with revised timelines in case of such delays. We appreciate your understanding and patience in such situations.
