Rendered intricately, this Pichwai painting by the master artist Dinesh Soni presents a beautiful representation of Lord Shrinathji with Gopis. Pichwai artwork is a 400-year-old craft used to depict the seven-year-old manifestation of Lord Krishna performing the majestic act of carrying Mount Govardhana on his little finger.
Here, the figure of Lord Shrinathji is composed at the centre of the frame, rendered in a dark complexion, playing the flute (murali). The artist has attempted to depict him as Venugopala. He is standing in a sampada position on a flat, circular lotus pedestal. He is adorned with an ornate crown topped with a peacock feather (moorpankh), embellished jewellery and a lotus garland. His clothes are richly decorated and coloured in white tones, reflecting the lustrous shine in his divine presence.
Surrounding him, two gopis are swinging the peacock fans (morchal), gesturing reverence. They are positioned in side profile, embellished with an abundance of jewellery pieces and traditional Rajasthani clothing such as a translucent odhni, choli and ghaghra.
The background is set with the rendition of multiple cows (Kamdhenu: wish-fulfilling cows) in miniature form. They are set in two sets of columns, facing each other. These cows are the typical motifs used in the Pichwai artwork. The anatomy is precisely painted and shown in motion, with their front legs raised. The backdrop is painted in deep blue. Furthermore, the painting is enclosed within a broad outer border featuring flower motifs and tendrils, set in monochromatic tones of golden hues.
Each of our artworks are hand painted by master artists across India. We provide a digital authentication certificate with this artwork signed by the artist which will be sent over email after 3-4 days of delivery of the artwork.

No, we currently sell artworks unframed (unless explicitly mentioned otherwise) and do not provide framing services.
