This highly graphic and structurally striking Gond painting by Manoj Tekam focuses on a brilliant, monochromatic blue color palette to depict a grand peacock preening its feathers beneath a matching Tree of Life canopy.

Gond painting is a vibrant tribal art form from Madhya Pradesh, practiced by the Gond community. It is celebrated for its intricate geometric patterns, bold colors, and deep connection to nature. Traditionally used to decorate village mud walls, the art has evolved into a globally recognized style.

The composition is centered around a single, vibrant cerulean-blue tree trunk that curves elegantly along the left side before branching out into a perfectly balanced canopy of grey, feather-textured leaves. The main tree trunk and its thick, sweeping branches are molded exclusively using the Beni (braid) custom, filled with tightly woven, parallel blue line-work that traces the organic flow of the wood.Nestled into the trunk's curve, the peacock's chest and long neck are intricately covered in deep cerulean Gehu ke baal (wheat spikes) loops, mimicking the natural symmetry of overlapping bird feathers. The bird’s body is a masterclass in texture, its main torso is composed of hundreds of clean white fish-scale loops outlined in black, while its long neck, wings, and legs are executed in a matching cerulean-blue scale pattern. This clean repetition of blue loops directly contrasts with the fine, leaf-shaped scales that fill out the rest of the canopy. Its beak is highlighted in a sharp, solid crimson red.

This composition depicts the interconnectedness between the forest and its beings, reflecting on the Gond worldview of harmonious co-existence.

Domestic Orders

All prices are inclusive of GST and applicable Indian taxes.

• We offer free shipping on orders above ₹1999 for all artworks, except Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri.
• A flat shipping rate of ₹499 applies to orders below ₹1999.

Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri

Shipping is charged on a per-kilogram basis, due to the delicate and bulky nature of these items.

International Orders

• A flat shipping charge of ₹4,000 applies to international artwork orders.
• Customs duties, taxes, or import charges in the buyer’s country are not included and must be borne by the buyer.
• Shipping rates for Lippan, Terracotta and Thikri artworks will be calculated based on weight.

Additonal Shipping Charges

Extra charges may be applicable for both domestic and international deliveries in the following cases:

• If the article requires additional packaging (such as a wooden crate) to ensure safe shipping due to its delicate nature.
• Custom-framed artworks.
• Artworks where shorter side exceeds 36 inches or Decor items with any side over 35 inches.
• If you request express shipping. Contact support to check availability.
• The order contains more than two different product types.
